Parami Round Table Group is our business Think Tank, founded in 2012, with the goal of bringing Myanmar leadership greater understanding of the benefits of regional cooperation. We have brought together leading national development economists and industry experts in more than 30 workshops and seminars to disseminate information and promote knowledge sharing on how to take advantage of Myanmar’s membership in the AEC and ASEAN. In 2015, Parami Round Table was honored with the ASEAN People’s Award for contributions toward the creation of a united, prosperous and caring ASEAN Community. Our community outreach utilizes radio and TV broadcasts, web posts and social media tools to provide the latest regional and international business and economic developments in a digestible format to SMEs and decision-makers in every region.
The Parami Round Table Think Tank was founded by a larger group of persons to create a platform to raise awareness about business knowledge and responsible practices. It engages Myanmar leaders and policy makers to learn how best to benefit from co-operating with our neighbours. The think-tank organizes awareness training, workshops, and seminars on topics of interest to ASEAN and ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) members.
The Parami Round Table has hosted more 25 workshops on AEC initiatives and the opportunities and challenges that come from Myanmar’s membership of the single ASEAN market. To reach wider audiences and to teach younger people about the issues, these sessions are broadcast on national TV and through FM radio, through our website and through social media channels such as Facebook. We offer more awareness training and workshops to remote regions throughout the country. In light of these efforts, we were awarded the honourable ASEAN Peoples’ Award by ASEAN Secretariat in 2015.
Our plans don’t stop here: we aim to present focused and highly technical workshops which will enable Myanmar entrepreneurs to take better advantage of and to extend the link up with like-minded local and regional think-thanks.
